Manta Studios — Mobile Games Privacy Policy

Last updated 26 October 2026

Effective date: 12 October 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Manta Studios.

Manta Studios is a game development and publishing brand operated by Crusader Ventures Ltd, a company established in Malta.

We respect the privacy of our players and are committed to protecting personal information, handling data responsibly, and providing transparency about how our games operate.

This Mobile Games Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, protect, and otherwise process information when you install, access, or play our games on Android, iOS, or iPadOS devices.

It also explains your privacy rights, the choices available to you, and how to contact us.

We aim to collect only the information reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, improve, and, where applicable, monetise our games.

This Privacy Policy applies to Manta Studios mobile games that expressly link to it. Certain games may have additional game-specific privacy disclosures describing the particular services, permissions, and data practices applicable to them. These disclosures form part of this Privacy Policy.

This policy does not govern the general Manta Studios corporate website, which is covered by a separate Corporate Website Privacy Policy.

2. Who We Are

For the purposes of applicable data protection legislation, the data controller is:

Legal entity: Crusader Ventures Ltd
Trading name: Manta Studios
Country: Malta, European Union
Registered office: SOHO St. Julians Punchbowl Centre, Elia Zammit Street, Unit P046, St. Julian’s, STJ 3154, Malta
Privacy contact: [email protected]
Website: https://mantastudios.com

Crusader Ventures Ltd is responsible for determining the purposes and means of personal data processing undertaken by Manta Studios, except where third-party providers act as independent data controllers under their own terms and privacy policies.

This policy is intended to support compliance with applicable data protection legislation, including the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Malta’s Data Protection Act, and other applicable privacy and consumer-protection laws.

3. Information We Collect and Process

The information processed depends on the game you play, your device, the features you use, your location, your privacy choices, and the third-party services integrated into that game.

Not every category below applies to every game.

3.1 Gameplay Data and Preferences

Our games may process information such as:

  • Game progress, scores, achievements, levels, and unlocked content.
  • Virtual currency balances, rewards, lives, and inventory.
  • Gameplay settings, language preferences, sound settings, and accessibility preferences.
  • Local game saves and checkpoint information.
  • Game session events, when analytics or connected gameplay features are enabled.

Many games may store this information locally on your device without transmitting it to Manta Studios.

Where a game provides cloud saves, online leaderboards, accounts, multiplayer functionality, or synchronisation, the information needed to operate those features may be transmitted to and stored on relevant servers.

The game-specific disclosure identifies the applicable arrangements.

3.2 Device and Technical Information

When a game communicates with online services, including advertising, analytics, crash reporting, or game servers, we or the relevant service providers may process:

  • Device model, manufacturer, and device category.
  • Operating system and version.
  • Application name, version, and installation information.
  • Language and regional settings.
  • IP address and approximate location inferred from it.
  • Network connection information.
  • Crash reports, error messages, diagnostic logs, and performance measurements.
  • Application instance identifiers or other technical identifiers.
  • Advertising identifiers, where accessible and permitted.

The categories processed and the recipients vary by game and by service.

We do not require precise GPS location, access to contacts, microphone recordings, camera images, or photo libraries merely to provide standard gameplay. If a specific game offers a feature requiring such access, we will disclose its purpose and request the applicable permission before using it.

3.3 Advertising and Advertising-Related Data

Some Manta Studios games are free to play and may be supported by advertising.

Where advertisements are enabled, advertising partners may process information including:

  • IP addresses and approximate geographical information.
  • Advertising or application identifiers.
  • Device and operating-system information.
  • Advertising impressions, interactions, clicks, and reward events.
  • Information about the application displaying the advertisement.
  • Consent preferences and relevant privacy signals.
  • Data used for advertising fraud prevention, frequency capping, measurement, or personalisation, where permitted.

Such information may be collected directly by an advertising SDK or through communications between the game and advertising services.

Depending on the game, advertisements may include banners, interstitial advertisements, rewarded video advertisements, or other supported advertising formats.

We distinguish between personalised advertising, which may use information about your interests or activities, and non-personalised or contextual advertising, which does not rely on the same type of behavioural targeting.

Non-personalised advertisements may still involve the processing of personal data, such as IP addresses or technical identifiers, for delivery, security, frequency management, and measurement.

Where required, we will obtain valid consent before activating processing that depends on consent, and we will respect applicable operating-system permissions and privacy choices.

3.4 Analytics and Performance Information

Where enabled, analytics and diagnostic systems may collect information relating to:

  • Game launches and session duration.
  • Level completion, failures, and progression.
  • Game performance and loading times.
  • Feature usage and gameplay balancing.
  • Application crashes and technical errors.
  • Aggregate player engagement and retention.

We use such information to understand how games perform, improve gameplay, identify technical problems, and evaluate the effectiveness of game features.

Where possible, we favour aggregated or privacy-preserving information over directly identifying player information.

Analytics providers and their specific practices are disclosed for the relevant game.

3.5 Purchases and Transactions

Certain games may offer paid downloads, optional in-app purchases, subscriptions, or other paid features.

Payments made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are processed using the relevant platform’s purchasing systems.

We may receive and process limited transaction information, including:

  • Product or purchase identifiers.
  • Transaction references and purchase timestamps.
  • Entitlement, restoration, refund, or subscription status.
  • Purchase verification information necessary to prevent fraud and provide purchased features.

We do not ordinarily receive your complete payment card number or card security code from Apple or Google for platform-managed purchases.

Apple and Google process payment and account information under their own applicable privacy policies and contractual arrangements.

3.6 Customer Support and Communications

If you contact Manta Studios for technical assistance, feedback, privacy requests, or other enquiries, we may process:

  • Your name or preferred contact name, if supplied.
  • Your email address.
  • The contents of your communication.
  • Relevant game, device, or technical information you voluntarily provide.
  • Information necessary to investigate and resolve your request.

Please avoid including passwords, financial information, identity documents, or other sensitive personal information unless specifically necessary and requested through a secure process.

3.7 Optional Online and Social Features

Some games may introduce accounts, cloud synchronisation, leaderboards, multiplayer gameplay, social features, or notifications.

Where these features are available, additional information may be processed, such as usernames, account identifiers, publicly displayed scores, friend or multiplayer interactions, push-notification tokens, or cloud-saved content.

We will provide applicable disclosures and request permissions where required.

If an online feature allows information to be visible to other players, we will explain what information is shared before it is made public.

4. How We Use Information and Our Legal Bases

Where the GDPR or equivalent legislation applies, we rely on an appropriate legal basis for each processing activity.

Purpose Legal basis, as applicable
Providing requested gameplay, accounts, cloud saves and purchased features Performance of a contract
Providing player support Contractual necessity or legitimate interests
Maintaining security, detecting fraud and protecting our services Legitimate interests or legal obligation
Collecting optional analytics Consent where required; otherwise legitimate interests where legally justified
Personalised advertising and related tracking Consent where required
Delivering contextual advertisements and preventing advertising abuse Consent where required; otherwise an appropriate lawful basis assessed for the specific processing
Managing legally required records and complying with regulatory obligations Legal obligation
Resolving legal disputes and protecting lawful rights Legitimate interests or another applicable lawful basis

Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests include maintaining a reliable and secure gaming service, preventing abuse, responding to players, and improving our products. We consider the impact of the processing on the rights and freedoms of individuals before relying on this basis.

We do not rely on legitimate interests as a substitute for consent where applicable law requires consent.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

5. Advertising Partners and Third-Party Services

Our games may integrate third-party services to provide advertisements, purchasing functionality, technical infrastructure, analytics, or other features.

5.1 Google AdMob

Where a game uses Google AdMob, Google may process information for advertisement delivery, measurement, security, fraud prevention, and, where permitted, advertisement personalisation.

Google’s data processing may include technical identifiers, IP addresses, device information, advertising interaction information, and related signals.

For additional information:

  • Google Privacy Policy
  • How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services

Google may act as an independent data controller for certain advertising activities and as a processor for certain services, depending on the relevant product and processing arrangement.

We remain responsible for appropriately configuring the advertising services integrated into our games, obtaining required permissions, and providing accurate disclosures.

5.2 Apple and Google Platform Services

Where a game is distributed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the relevant platform may process information concerning downloads, purchases, refunds, subscriptions, app distribution, security, and account management.

These platform activities may be governed separately by:

  • Apple Privacy Policy
  • Google Privacy Policy

5.3 Other Providers

A game may use additional providers for crash reporting, analytics, hosting, authentication, leaderboards, cloud storage, or other functionality.

The exact providers enabled for each game must be disclosed in its Game-Specific Privacy Details.

We assess providers for their privacy and security practices and require appropriate contractual or other safeguards where applicable. Providers are expected to protect personal information in accordance with applicable law and the protections required by the relevant platform.

The appearance of a service category in this policy does not mean that the corresponding service is enabled in every game.

6. Advertising Consent, Tracking and Privacy Choices

6.1 European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland

Where required by applicable law, players in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland will be presented with an appropriate consent interface for advertising and related data processing.

Where Google advertising products are used, this may be implemented through Google’s User Messaging Platform or another appropriate certified Consent Management Platform.

Players will be offered the choices required by applicable law.

Where required, users can later review or change their consent preferences through an accessible Privacy and Cookie Settings option within the game.

If particular consent-dependent processing cannot lawfully proceed without consent, it will not be activated unless the necessary consent is obtained.

Declining optional personalised advertising consent will not, by itself, prevent access to the game’s core functionality.

6.2 Apple App Tracking Transparency

On Apple devices, where an activity requires permission under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework, we will request the required system-level permission before undertaking that activity.

If tracking permission is declined, we will not undertake tracking that requires that permission.

Apple’s tracking permission is separate from any other consent or legal requirement, including the GDPR.

You can review the relevant system-level tracking choices in your Apple device’s privacy settings.

6.3 Android Advertising Controls

On Android, advertising identifiers and related privacy settings may be managed through the device’s available Google or Android privacy controls.

The location and availability of these controls depend on the device and operating-system version.

We will respect applicable platform restrictions and advertising identifier permissions.

6.4 United States and Other Regional Privacy Choices

Residents of certain jurisdictions may have rights to opt out of targeted advertising or activities classified as the sale or sharing of personal information.

We do not sell player contact lists or directly identified personal information for monetary payment. However, certain disclosures or uses of advertising identifiers for cross-context behavioural advertising may qualify as a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising under applicable privacy laws, even where no money changes hands.

Where applicable, we will provide the legally required opt-out mechanism and honour recognised opt-out preference signals to the extent required and technically applicable.

Requests may also be submitted through the privacy contact identified in this policy.

7. Game Saves and Local Device Storage

Many Manta Studios games may use device-local storage to remember gameplay progress, preferences, completed levels, or other settings.

Depending on the platform and game, such data may be stored using application storage, local databases, preferences, or equivalent technologies.

Local data ordinarily remains on the player’s device and is not accessible to us unless the game includes a connected service that transmits it.

Deleting a game or clearing its application data may delete local progress, subject to operating-system backup and restoration behaviour.

Some devices may back up application data through Apple, Google, or another backup service. Those backups are subject to the relevant provider’s controls and privacy practices.

Where a game offers cloud saves or synchronisation, its Game-Specific Privacy Details will explain how that service operates and how associated data may be deleted.

8. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We may disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary and permitted by applicable law, including to:

  1. Service providers: Vendors providing hosting, diagnostics, support, security, infrastructure, and other necessary operational services.
  2. Advertising and measurement partners: Where advertising or associated measurement is enabled and the required conditions are satisfied.
  3. App distribution and payment platforms: For downloads, purchasing, purchase verification, refunds, and entitlement management.
  4. Public authorities and professional advisers: Where legally required or reasonably necessary for lawful regulatory, judicial, or legal proceedings.
  5. Corporate transaction participants: Where necessary in connection with a lawful restructuring, acquisition, or transfer of the relevant business or assets, subject to applicable privacy safeguards.

We require relevant providers to use appropriate safeguards and limit the use of information according to their applicable role, agreements, and legal obligations.

We do not authorise third parties to process data for purposes incompatible with the permissions, disclosures, and agreements governing the relevant services.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including providing game services, maintaining security, supporting players, fulfilling contractual requirements, or complying with legal obligations.

Retention depends on the type of information and the service concerned:

  • Local gameplay data: Normally remains on the device until removed through game controls, application data clearing, or uninstallation, subject to device backup behaviour.
  • Connected gameplay or account data: Retained while needed to provide the relevant service, subject to the account and inactivity retention rules disclosed for that game.
  • Technical logs and diagnostics: Retained for a limited operational period according to the configured service’s retention schedule.
  • Support correspondence: Retained for an appropriate period after resolution to handle follow-up questions, disputes, and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Consent records: Retained for as long as reasonably necessary to administer privacy preferences and demonstrate compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Purchase and financial records: Retained where and for as long as required by applicable accounting, taxation, consumer-protection, or legal obligations.

Specific retention durations for remotely stored game data and enabled third-party services will be recorded in the relevant Game-Specific Privacy Details.

At the end of the applicable retention period, information is deleted or anonymised using appropriate methods, unless continued retention is legally required.

Data retained by independent third-party controllers is subject to their own lawful retention practices.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction, alteration, or disclosure.

Depending on the system and its purpose, these measures may include:

  • Encrypted communications when information is transmitted.
  • Access controls and restricted administrative permissions.
  • Appropriate management of credentials and application secrets.
  • Maintenance and security updates.
  • Monitoring for misuse, security issues, and technical vulnerabilities.
  • Data minimisation and retention controls.
  • Review of relevant third-party service providers.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If a personal data breach occurs, we will assess it and take applicable containment, notification, and remedial action as required by law.

11. International Data Transfers

Manta Studios operates from Malta, within the European Union.

Our games may use service providers or infrastructure located in other countries, including countries outside the European Economic Area.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we will apply the safeguards required by applicable law.

These may include an applicable adequacy decision, approved Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism, as relevant.

Where required, supplementary protections and transfer-risk assessments will be considered.

You may contact us to request further information about relevant transfer safeguards and how to obtain copies where applicable.

12. Children’s Privacy

We recognise that children deserve particular protection when using digital services and games.

The intended audience and age classification of individual Manta Studios games are determined separately. An age rating does not, on its own, determine whether a game is legally considered child-directed.

Games intended for children, or knowingly made available to children in circumstances requiring additional protections, must apply the relevant age-appropriate privacy measures.

These measures may include:

  • Limiting collection to information reasonably necessary for the permitted functionality.
  • Disabling personalised or behaviourally targeted advertising for children.
  • Using advertising and analytics services permitted for the relevant audience and platform.
  • Restricting access to inappropriate advertising content.
  • Obtaining verifiable parental consent where legally required.
  • Providing appropriate parental rights, controls, and disclosure mechanisms.
  • Applying appropriate safeguards to persistent identifiers and other device information.

For United States users, relevant protections may include the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). European and other jurisdictions may impose additional or different rules concerning children’s data and parental authorisation.

Parents or guardians may contact us to request information about their child’s personal data, seek deletion, withdraw relevant consent, or exercise applicable rights.

Where we discover that personal information has been processed from a child in circumstances that do not meet applicable legal requirements, we will take appropriate steps to stop the processing and delete or otherwise lawfully address the information.

Games specifically directed at children may require additional, game-specific children’s privacy disclosures and safeguards beyond this general policy.

13. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your country or region, you may have the right to:

  • Access: Request information about personal data we process concerning you.
  • Rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
  • Erasure: Request deletion of personal information where applicable.
  • Restriction: Ask us to restrict certain processing activities.
  • Data portability: Receive qualifying information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing.
  • Withdraw consent: Withdraw consent for processing activities that rely on it.
  • Advertising opt-out: Exercise applicable rights concerning targeted advertising or the sale or sharing of personal information.
  • Automated decisions: Exercise rights concerning qualifying solely automated decisions, where such rights apply.
  • Complaint: Lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority.

These rights are subject to applicable legal conditions and exceptions.

To exercise your rights, contact:

[email protected]

Please identify the relevant game and describe your request. We may request proportionate information to confirm your identity or authority, particularly where disclosure or deletion could affect another person’s data.

We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. Under the GDPR, this is generally within one month of receiving the request, subject to permitted extensions.

Where information is held solely on a player’s device and is not accessible to us, we may explain how the player can manage or delete it locally.

For information independently controlled by an advertising or platform provider, we may direct you to the relevant provider’s privacy controls where appropriate.

Complaints in the European Union

Our principal supervisory authority in Malta is the:

Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC)
Malta
Website: https://idpc.org.mt

You may also have the right to contact another competent supervisory authority in your country of residence, workplace, or the location of an alleged infringement.

We encourage you to contact us first so that we can investigate and attempt to resolve your concerns.

14. Account and Data Deletion

Where a game allows players to create an account, we will provide the account deletion functionality and information required by the applicable distribution platform and law.

For games supporting accounts, this includes:

  • An accessible means of initiating account deletion within the application.
  • An external web-based account deletion request route where required.
  • Deletion of the account and associated personal information, subject to lawful retention exceptions.
  • Clear information about any information that must be retained and the reason for retaining it.

For games without accounts, you may remove device-local data through relevant game or device controls. You can contact us to request deletion of personal information held by us, where such information exists and can be identified.

Deleting an app from your device does not necessarily delete data previously transferred to external services or independent third-party controllers.

Requests concerning information held by Manta Studios can be submitted to our privacy contact.

15. Cookies, SDK Storage and Similar Technologies

Certain games and integrated services may use local storage, SDK-managed storage, device identifiers, or equivalent technologies.

These technologies may support:

  • Remembering preferences and game settings.
  • Preserving gameplay information.
  • Maintaining technical functionality.
  • Recording advertising consent choices.
  • Delivering or measuring advertisements.
  • Detecting security or advertising fraud.
  • Supporting analytics, where enabled and permitted.

Not all these technologies are browser cookies.

Where applicable law requires consent for non-essential storage or access technologies, we will obtain consent before their use.

Additional information about the technologies used in a particular game will be included in its Game-Specific Privacy Details or associated consent interface.

16. Automated Processing and Profiling

Where personalised advertising is enabled and permitted, advertising partners may use automated systems to select advertisements or evaluate advertising engagement.

These activities may involve profiling for advertising purposes, as described in the applicable partner disclosures and consent information.

Manta Studios does not use ordinary gameplay scores or achievements to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning players.

Should we introduce functionality involving such decisions, we will provide any additional disclosures and safeguards required by law.

17. Third-Party Websites and External Links

Our games may contain links to external websites, app store pages, advertising destinations, or third-party services.

We do not control the privacy practices of independent third parties.

When you leave one of our games and access another service, that service’s own privacy policy and terms may apply.

We encourage players and parents to review the privacy practices of external services before providing information.

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our games, technologies, service providers, legal obligations, or data processing practices.

When changes are made, we will update the date displayed at the beginning of this document.

Where required by law, we will provide additional notification or obtain renewed consent before implementing material changes that affect the processing of personal information.

Previous versions may be made available upon reasonable request where appropriate.
